It is not halal.
They do not take reservations, but they do take call aheads. I would definitely recommend a call ahead, the wait can be very long (an hour+) on the weekend
Not sure about the amount of selections, but I can tell you they pour one of the best drinks in terms of any spirit.
Definitely. There are two parts to this establishment. One part is kid friendly - the bar side would not be recommended - not from the restaurant but me as a parent.
No.
Very yummy onion rings and interesting selection of European beer
OK HERE IS THE REAL STORY: NO I was so worried that I had to know immediately. I just called and they said that they are definitely not moving anywhere. Yea! I love it when the sauce is sweet. Not that I heard of, and I was just there at one of the greatest places for a burger on the planet, a few days ago. And a week or so earlier I had asked if they had given any thought to being open on Sundays. No one said anything, either time. Gosh I hope this is actually real Fake News!
Food was excellent, built my own burger and shared the steak bites and a Cobb salad as appetizers. Our waiter was friendly and the food came out quick! Will be returning in the future.
Our hotel suggested this place when we were visiting Detroit. The waiter was friendly and suggested good items to try off the menu since this was our first time. My wife had their famous hamburger (without any modifications) and I had the Lake Perch which the waiter had suggested. Both tasted amazing! The burger was the best we ever had. I could just have the bun without the patty - it was so soft and juicy. The lake perch was a surprise to me as well. Definitely going back for that burger though.
Very good fish and chips and the wife enjoyed her burger. Would definitely come back again and can recommend the Scottish cider. I think it’s a little pricey and the parking situation needs to be improved.
Good food and fast 👍👍👍 They serve the best hamburger in town. Go with Piedmontese Beef you won’t regret it, I promise 😋😋😋
I sincerely hope they are paying their staff very well, because at this price point, there is no other excuse. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 order of onion rings, their cheese spread app and one beer - our total was $62. Neither one of us got crazy with our burger customization either - I got cheese, 2 toppings and a sauce, and she got 3 toppings and a sauce. We both ordered our burgers mid rare, hers was medium and mine was mid well. The patty was very underseasoned, as well, and the bottom bun was soggy before it even hit our table. The server (Dean/Dan?) was excellent - he was the best part of the experience. The atmosphere is also nice.Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but at this price point, it's not worth it to even give them another chance.
Loved it. Great food. I got a salmon and I never tasted a juicy seasoned salmon before. This was my first and it was delish
What an amazing burger place! I have been here a few times for lunch. The staff is great. The burgers are amazing and give you some good options for adding additional ingredients, like bacon, fried eggs, different cheeses, etc. The onion rings are huge and delicious. I highly recommend the burgers here I have never been less than stuffed when leaving.
Great restaurant with good atmosphere. They have a good beer selection and have good burgers which is what I always get there. Good place to get dinner and casual drinks with someone.
Great service. The Cajun beef tip app was perfectly cooked med rare. The Shepard's pie outstanding all around. Not cheap but worth the cost.
This place has some of the best hamburgers and I am not really a hamburger person. Their carry out is always hot and fresh which is a plus for a bar that offers carry out. I believe their policy is to make your fries after you arrive, which takes a little longer but much appreciated when you get home. There is a bartender there a tall thin gentleman, who makes the best drinks I've every had anywhere. They are one and DONE lol Tip him accordingly (wish I knew his name).
Love the burgers here. Medium rare, Gouda cheese, grilled onions and mushroom, burger sauce, and zip sauce. Yum! Onion rings and prime rib are also good choices here.
The burgers here are the best! You can customize them how you like. Try the zip sauce, you won't regret it. The truffle fries were equally good and the onion rings as well. They also have a great beer and hard cider list.
Great restaurant known for their famous half pound burger. I had the burger and it was delicious. They also have craft beers on tap.
Atmosphere! Great food! Wonderful company! Generous bartender! Only thing this restaurant is missing is a live band or a solo swanky pianist.
Excellent. I split a burger with cheese and grilled onions, sweet potato fries and a yummy salad with my friend. The burger was excellent, as were the sweet potato fries. The lemon vinaigrette dressing that I got with the salad was fantastic. This place is almost always crowded. They make a great mixed drink though and the food is worth the wait.
I had one of their hamburgers and I must say that it was one of the best hamburgers I've every had. My wife had the beef tips appetizer for a main course and she enjoyed them very much. I wound definitely come back for more!
Rude managers with zero personality, it’s almost like they hate their job... Over rated! The steak tips are always good!
For late night food this is a great spot. But over the past year it has been a hit or miss with the food quality. Seems they changed vendors for some of their food such as the burgers. Quality has decreased. Service is always wonderful and the kitchen is open until 1:45AM so that’s a plus. The quality of food is best described as bar food but turned up a slight notch. For the price, location, and service I would recommend.
Ordered takeout from here recently and regretted it. The shepherd’s pie was swimming in grease. I ordered a medium rare burger and it was well done, chewy and had no seasoning. The fries were soggy. On top of all that greasy food, they didn’t even give us any napkins or plastic ware.
I used to eat here all the time. Their burgers are great, though they are really expensive. I went here when they opened after the covid shut down. Getting exactly the same thing we got everytime for two people, my bill was about $15 more than before. On the menu it says they charge for most toppings when building your own burger, but they pretty much started charging for every topping I think. I am sure they are just trying to recover some of their loss, but I didnt appreciate that. Unfortunately, I won't be going back here.
My favorite place in metro Detroit. Best burgers anywhere, everything is fabulous even the side salad. Unbelievable clam chowder. Great atmosphere and bartenders ( Kevin and Basheer are great!). Best Key lime pie ever - get it if you get lucky and they have it!
Awesome burger! Out waitress was great too. She approached our table just enough and was pleasant and efficient. Different atmosphere than the Royal Oak restaurant - it's a lot more comfortable cozy. Everything worked in the bathroom and it was seemingly clean throughout the entire restaurant.
The grilled chicken Caesar salad is delicious!
The hotel that I was staying at recommended the Red Coat Tavern even though they had a restaurant. Fun place, good menu options. I had the Brassarie Burger, one they are known for. It did not disappoint! Delish. If you are seeking a good burger in the area I have to suggest this place. Staff was very friendly and attentive. If I had to make one criticism, it's not a quiet place, it's rather loud. But it's a fun atmosphere regardless.
Ordered three burgers carry out with fries. They packed the bag nicely with plenty of condiments and napkins. Burger was cooked just how I asked for it and was very yum. Fries were good too but I would request them well done for next time. I'll definitely be back. Thanks guys
I love the Redcoat Tavern! I didn't even know a second location existed until recently as I only knew about the one on Woodward in Royal Oak. You can't go wrong with either their burger or macaroni and cheese. It is a MUST that you get their onion rings (there's enough to share - trust me). I also like getting the Cheese & Ale Spread as a starter. Our service was great during our first visit to this location. Newcomers beware - your burgers will be expensive as they charge per added topping.
Fantastic! I had heard about this place having delicious burgers, and they were not wrong. Amazing burger cooked perfectly with the sweet potato fries that were also exceedingly tasty. Our Waiter Jason was on fire, he did an exceptional job and was very helpful with every question we had. We ended out night with bread pudding and Pot du Creme (Super Chocolate Pudding). That Bread pudding was phenomenal!! And that du Creme was pulchritude of Chocolate.
I love the Orchard Lake Salmon salad. Its GOOD! Nice atmosphere and very busy. The host was very warm and attentive to my request for a booth. It's casual dining, but be who you be.
